The work goes on at the new house. I've been posting on going photos on Kodak Share, but a number of people have said they can't access them, so going to post here and on Facebook. Hope that helps. I painted the master bedroom and dining room ceilings with primer yesterday, along with the new wall in the dining room. Three hours, and I was beat. Today I'm going to finish the kitchen ceiling, cut in the master bathroom ceiling where I painted most of it the other day, and Roy is going to spackle all the walls in preparation of painting them this week. I am also going to be canning a case of cherries that I got last night. Half bing, half Rainier...they are so good and hope they will can up nicely to have for the future...holidays are coming!
I made crockpot chicken marsala yesterday, and except for the fact that I let it cook too long so it's a bit falling apart, it's really good. We went to our great great niece's 9th birthday party yesterday evening. It was a fun get together and she cleaned up...new toys, new clothes, and $79 cash from everyone who attended plus from her step sister and brother who couldn't be there. Her Mom made enchiladas, beans, and Spanish rice, and I brought chips, salsa and guacamole, and her other gramma and grampa brought chicken tacos, so if anyone went home hungry, it was their own fault. Mindy made a really pretty cake for her...a carrot cake by request.
So, the dark skies of night are starting to brighten, so soon there will be dawn of a new day. It was a bit cloudy yesterday, but nothing like the dark ominous clouds and down pours of the day before. The plants all loved it, so will be harvesting more lettuces and basil today, along with garlic chives. I can't wait to see what I can produce in my raised beds next year! The herb garden is looking good at the new house...everything is growing well due to the removal of the old soil and rocks, and replacement with good garden soil amended with steer manure and compost. Will definitely have a compost bin once we're there as there are tons of leaves and of course we'll have the kitchen scraps.
Well, I'm off. Need to put the drops in my eye as is hurting again. Thought the darn thing was healed but apparently not. Did I tell you...have a tear in my cornea. No idea how, but it sure is annoying. Having to use salve in it at night and drops constantly during the day. No fun, but hopefully it will finish healing soon, and then I'll only need to use the drops a couple times a day per the doctor. Says once you have a tear and subsequent scar tissue, it needs to be kept lubricated or your eyelid kind of sticks to it and continues to irritate it which can cause trouble. Oh joy, yet another thing to remember to do.
